PRIVACY AND SECURITY POLICY

Elo respects the privacy of its Authorized Users. The following details the types of information it collects (when you visit the platform or become a user) and how this information is used.

Elo uses technology developed by Mirego, which subscribes to rigorous standards of security and confidentiality. Every precaution has been taken to ensure that your information is protected against any error, loss, or unauthorized access.

INTEGRATED SECURITY

Cryptography

All operations performed on Elo are encrypted to ensure the confidentiality of information circulating between its platform and your browser. Encryption is performed according to the SSL 2.0 security protocol.

SSL is short for Secure Sockets Layer. This protocol creates a secure connection during the exchange of data, preventing your information from being decoded by unwanted parties.

Firewall

Access is controlled by multiple firewalls that filter requests to identify and neutralize penetration attempts.

PRIVACY MEASURES

HTTPS protocol tracking

Our site follows the HTTPS protocol, which, through an authentication certificate issued by a third-party authority, deems the site reliable (commonly, the site will be part of a browser whitelist) and thus allows visitors to trust its identity.

The protocol theoretically guarantees the confidentiality and integrity of the data sent by Authorized Users (including information entered in forms) and received from the server. It can also validate the identity of visitors using a client authentication certificate.

Logout

It is important to log out of your session as soon as you are finished with the platform or when momentarily leaving your device unattended.

To log out securely, click Logout, clear your cache, and close your browser.

This logout procedure is extremely important if your device is shared with others.

Using Cookies

Elo uses cookies. Cookies are information stored on your computer that identifies your browser software and navigation history from one website or webpage to the next. They do not contain any sensitive information and can only be read by the website you’re visiting.

Elo uses cookies to collect your browsing preferences for website optimisation and ease of navigation. Additionally, they’re used to protect you, others, and the Elo platform.

Data hosting

Elo’s data is hosted in the United States on servers that meet the highest data security standards.

Account and data deletion

The user may at any time demand the deletion of their account and its related data by writing an email in that respect to support@elomentorat.com.

ELO PASSWORD

Elo lets you create your own password provided it respects certain security constraints. Ensure the password you select is both easy to memorise and hard to guess.

To protect your personal information, treat your Elo password as you would your bank PIN: do not disclose it to anyone, store it on your computer, nor write it down.

Properly safeguarding your password helps secure your confidential information. You are personally responsible for the protection of your Elo password. Elo cannot be held responsible for any unauthorized access to your account (or any loss or damage arising from unauthorized access) resulting from negligence. Always protect your Elo password.

INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM AUTHORIZED USERS

Anyone becoming a mentor and/or mentee must provide Elo with their family name, first name, current job title, and email address. Mentors must also provide their complete mailing address, telephone number, and information about their profession.

This information is collected for security and client-service purposes. It allows Elo to properly inform its Authorized Users of platform updates and other relevant information (e.g., a potential mentoring match).

The information mentioned above is stored on Elo’s database. It is accessed only by Elo employees who have signed a confidentiality agreement as well as anyone authorized by the client to update his or her account. Elo does not share this information or sell it to a third party. Elo discloses no personal information about its Authorized Users except if required by law or with a user’s expressed consent.

COMMUNICATIONS BETWEEN MENTORS AND MENTEES

Elo's commitment

Virtual Mentoring Service: Elo does not use personal email addresses for communication between mentors and mentees. All conversations can be had directly on the Elo website or mobile application where each Authorized User has access to a personal mailbox. Since there is no exchange of coordinates outside of those provided by Elo, this method of communication ensures greater confidentiality among participants. Messages are archived in Elo’s database and are accessible to members of the Elo team for the purpose of monitoring Authorized User activity. By participating in Elo, you agree that Elo may monitor the communication activity on the platform.

Communication between mentors and mentees

Mentors and mentees agree to respect the confidentiality of information shared by other participants on the platform (either through mentoring exchanges or discussion boards). Additionally, the participant agrees to refrain from using confidential information to harm participants, for personal gain, or to benefit others.

Customer commitment

The information contained in communication exchanges is strictly confidential and inaccessible by users. Conversations are the property of mentors and mentees only. Also, according to the agreement signed with Elo, the Partner and its authorized representatives cannot disclose the personal information of their Authorized Users to a third party.
